Can I see the game rules?

The gameplay section of the campaign has a breakdown of some of the key rules in Pacific Rim: Extinction.

We have a lot more to show, and are hoping to make the full rulebook available at a later stage during the campaign.

How many players is Pacific Rim: Extinction for?

Pacific Rim: Extinction is a game for 2 or more players. In a 2 player game, each player will control one of the two teams: the Pan Pacific Defence Corps or the invading Kaiju.

The game can be played by more than two players, as long as there is at least one Kaiju or Jaeger per person.

How much is shipping?

Shipping will be charged after the campaign based on the actual amount. Please see the Shipping section of the campaign page for more information.

Keep in the mind the values below are just estimates, and costs may rise based on weight increases from unlocked stretch goals and any optional buys you choose.

If this Kickstarter and the number of unlocked stretch goals reach a certain size then we will be splitting the shipping down into smaller shipping Waves. Please be aware there will be additional shipping charges per wave.

In particular we are looking at cheaper options for shipping to Canada.

Uprising Pledge Level (£35)

USA: £8-16 (to most states). CANADA: £27-30 (to most cities). UK: £6 EUROPE: £9-14 (to France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherland, Spain, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, Czech Republic and to most other countries). AUSTRALIA: £31 (to Australia and New Zealand). REST OF WORLD: £28-35 (to Brazil, China, Hong Kong, South Africa etc.).

Extinction Pledge Level (£65)

USA: £10-30 (to most states). CANADA: £40-45 (to most cities). UK: £6 EUROPE: £9-15 (to France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherland, Spain, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, Czech Republic and to most other countries). AUSTRALIA: £32 (to Australia and New Zealand). REST OF WORLD: £29-40 (to Brazil, China, Hong Kong, South Africa etc.).

How can I purchase expansions?

If you want to expand your game with one or more optional buys, all you have to do is click on the “Manage Your Pledge” button on the Pacific Rim: Extinction Kickstarter page, which appears once you have made any pledge. Then increase your pledge by the total value of the expansions you would like to purchase.

For example, if you have pledged at the ‘Uprising’ standard core set level (which is £35), and you would also like to receive the Bracer Phoenix Expansion, you would click on the “Manage Your Pledge” button, and increase your pledge from £35 to £55 (£35+£20=£55).

What does "Pending Licensor Approval" mean?

We are still in the process of designing elements of the game. We are working very closely with Legendary to make sure everything is in-line with the Pacific Rim IP, and completely movie accurate.

“Pending Licensor Approval” means that some small tweaks may be made to the models/artwork during development. This will only affect minor details. We are fully approved to create this game, with all the characters we have to show.

Will Jaegers and Kaiju from the first film be included?

We are allowed to create Jaegers and Kaiju for Pacific Rim: Extinction, and as the campaign progresses we very much hope to show off some familiar faces!

Can I change my pledge after the campaign?

We will be using a pledge manager after the Kickstarter campaign is finished. When this is available, you’ll be able to use it to increase your pledge to purchase additional expansions etc.

Are there any gameplay videos available?

Currently there are videos on Beasts of War discussing the game, however more dedicated gameplay videos will be coming later in the campaign, along with the rulebook.

You can watch an interview with one of the designers, Alessio Cavatore, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bf_ISY-GScI

What scale are the miniatures?

Our Jaeger and Kaiju miniatures stand between 75-115mm tall, and are represented in their relative sizes from the movies. This means the Kaiju are typically larger than the Jaegers.

In terms of scale, this makes the models roughly 1:1000 compared to their movie counterparts.

All elements of the game have been designed relative to the others, for example the 3D buildings which stand between 70-150mm tall, so you can build a cityscape for the Jaegers and Kaiju to battle in.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
