Spreading the Excitement! – Facebook Group, Tournament Pack, In-store Demo Pack, etc.

It's out! Join the Facebook group! 

September has gone in a flash, as we were all very busy with the fulfilment of Wave 1!!! And now we're working super hard to bring Wave 2 to you as fast as we can (watch out for more production updates later on in the year) - no rest for the wicked!

Now, everybody should have received their pledges (if you haven't, get in touch at [email protected]), and from the comments we received, backers are happy with what they got!

Naturally, one of the most common questions we are getting these days is "how do I find other gamers that have PRE, so that I can get to play the game more?" Seeing all that excitement is infectious, and we thought about how to best support this game and hobby and spread the word around - ensuring you have more opponents for your Jaegers/Kaiju to crush.

We are now launching the starter set into stores as well, and at the end of this month, Saber Athena and Hakuja will also be released, followed by Gipsy Danger and Obsidian Fury in November.

The first place you can head over to share pictures and battle stories with other gamers and fans is the Pacific Rim: Extinction Facebook group, created and run by the community. Go check out the cool stuff people are posting! 

Tournament Packs

After you joined the facebook conversation, another great way to meet new players is to get activity going in stores and in clubs (particularly for the more competitively-minded players out there). Enter... Tournaments!

We have released the River Horse PRE Tournament Pack (watch out for our coming announcement of the first official tournaments in the UK's Midlands coming up towards the end of the year!). And of course, we also provide PRE Errata and FAQs for when the rules matter most in the heat of battle. 

All of the files can be downloaded from the Facebook Group or the River Horse website.

You will see that the Tournament pack can be downloaded in both the prettier PDF format and in the more home printer-friendly Word format. Keep in mind that those documents are just guidelines, templates that you can modify however you like when you are organizing a tournament. Change the schedule, the venue/timing (obviously!), or even the rules! 

You will notice that we have chosen the mixed forces formula for the tournament, allowing players to freely mix Kaiju and Jaegers in the same force. We found this to be good fun, increasing the 'combo' value and the variety of choices for the players. 

And last but not least, River Horse promises that if you organize a tournament, run it with at least 8 people, and send us a little report to publish on our social media and/or website (with results, forces that played, anecdotes of glorious success, abysmal failure... more importantly, pictures of people having fun playing PRE), we will send your winner a prize - like the Bladed Gipsy Avenger model as long as we have stock! If you have bigger things in mind, do get in touch at [email protected] and we can certainly help out with more products as prize support. And if you are in the UK, Alessio, Jack (designers of the game), and other staff members will be more than happy to come and play/referee in your tournaments and other PRE-themed events!

In-store Demo Packs

And another way to meet new gamers and play more games of PRE is heading to your local gaming store and tell them about the In-store Demo Pack. This is a set that the stores can get from their distributors or directly from River Horse ([email protected]) that helps them show the game off to their customers. It will look like this (contents may vary!): 

And you, the backers, can really help the store out with these evenings. Bring your Wave 1 stuff, show it off and lend it to other gamers that want to have a go at the game. The Survival of the Fittest game is good fun and can be played quickly and repeated several times in an evening. It is our hope that after an evening like this, you will soon have a choice of opponents and allies for your games of PRE. Wave One Fulfilment Update

 Here is a quick update regarding the fulfilment of Pacific Rim: Extinction (Wave One) so far!

The United States of America

We have had confirmation that stock has now arrived with our partner in the US, and they are preparing everything to begin fulfilment. Once we have more information on fulfilment being started, we will pass this on.

Canada

As stock has been received in the USA, they will be forwarding a quantity to our Canadian partner to begin fulfilment. Please bear with us, though this will take a little longer, it will ensure that the process is smoother. Fulfilment is scheduled to begin before the end of August.

United Kingdom & Rest of World

Our stock has been received by our long term storage warehouse, and the stock for fulfilment will be transported to our fulfilment partner early next week. Once this is received, fulfilment can begin.

Australia & New Zealand

Our partner has given us an update, and we are pleased to say that all orders for Australia and New Zealand, are now being sent! Hope you enjoy the games when they arrive, make sure to tag River Horse on Social Media so we can see who is playing.

Pacific Rim: Extinction Shipping Update

We are happy to say that production of Wave One is completed on the 19th June and it is now on the first steps of its journey to our distribution hubs so that we can begin fulfillment.

There was a slight delay at the end of production… apparently large plastic windows like those on the expansion boxes don’t react well to the heat of the shrink-wrapping process! The problem has been resolved thanks to little plastic adhesive discs to seal the boxes, but this last hiccup added two weeks to the mass production.

But now everything is ready and being picked up and loaded onto container ships… exciting times!

United States

Wave One is due to load on to the vessel Northern Juvenile 303E, which is due to reach US shores on 1st August 2019 (subject to Kaiju attack at sea!). About seven days after this, the product should be in our hub ready to begin fulfillment.

Canada

Stock for our Canadian backers is being shipped with the stock for the US. Once our US hub has received the stock, this will be sent on to our fulfillment partner in Canada. This will add up to two weeks to the start of Canadian fulfillment 

Australia

If you are lucky enough to live in Australia, you have the shortest transfer window. We are awaiting some final details regarding when stock will be received, though this is normally a much shorter journey than to the US and UK. We will provide further details regarding Australian distribution as soon as we have them.

United Kingdom and the Rest of the World

Wave One is due to load onto the vessel Mol Tradition 008W, which is due to reach the UK on 25th July 2019, about seven days after this the product should be in our hub ready to begin fulfillment. Tracking links will be provided by our fulfillment partner ParcelHub, so please keep an eye out for these in your inbox.

Keep an eye out for future updates at the beginning of August as we bring further details about the fulfillment of Pacific Rim: Extinction Wave One. It is almost time to cancel the Apocalypse, get ready for battle!
