Hello to all backers of Pacific Rim: Extinction,
We have been working hard to get Pacific Rim: Extinction to you in the best possible form, making sure not to sacrifice quality at any stage. We did not want to share anything we could not be confident in delivering.
We are now delighted to share some very exciting images with you! The painted production samples for some models in Wave 1 have arrived, and today we’d like to share Gipsy Avenger with you, a model that all backers will be getting in the Starter Set:
We took a close look at the painting process during the early stages of manufacturing, and the result is the model you see here, produced by the factory based on a master reference.
We hope you’ll agree that the result is fantastic. We are very excited to get the game out into the world next year, and provide this same high level of detail in every copy of Pacific Rim: Extinction.
We will soon have more painted production sample pictures to share with you, and we will also give a more detailed overview of the release schedule as soon as we are able.
See you next time!
PRODUCTION UPDATE - DICE & BOX TRAY

Hello to all Pacific Rim: Extinction backers.
In this update we’d like to share with you the latest ‘behind-the-scenes’ photos from the manufacturers of Pacific Rim: Extinction. We’ve been sent photos from the factory of physical samples of the game dice, including the special red Kaiju dice. Plus, we’ve been discussing the interior tray of the box, and we can now give you a peek at what the inside is going to look like.
Firstly, take a look at the dice below!
We think you’ll agree that they look really cool. Of course, these dice will help you smash the enemy and activate your special weapons and abilities in the game. The awesome looking red dice are the special ‘Kaiju’ dice, available only to our backers. They will not be available for purchase, and will only be used for special promos.
Next, have a look at the working box tray:
This tray has been laid out using placeholder components, but it shows what the layout of the core set will be. This will include Gipsy Avenger, Shrikethorn, Conn-Pod, Kaiju Signature, Action Cards, Upgrades, Pilots, Combat Dice, Impulse Die, Rulebook, and everything else you need to start playing the game. All this packed into one box!
We have even more exciting news coming soon, as we are expecting to receive more updates from the manufacturer soon. Keep an eye on our updates and the River Horse newsletter for the latest.
State of Production - October 2018

Due to unforeseeable events, it is with regret that we must announce and apologise for a delay in the fulfilment of Pacific Rim: Extinction. We had issues with the painted masters while they were in transit from the UK to China, which means that the painting of the miniatures had to be put on hold. This means that fulfilment will be delayed into 2019, we will update you as soon as we are able to provide more specific progress details.
The main issue is that the painted masters we received for approval and then sent back to China were lost in transit. We tried to continue production by using digital reference, but that was not working. Without the actual masters, the painted models were not at a standard we were happy to ship out to you. We have just had these masters returned to us from China, but as you can see below they are not in a usable condition, meaning they can not be used as the reference.
As we want to make sure we deliver the highest quality product, we are currently reprinting the models and getting new painted masters created (and securely shipped!). These will then make sure that we will be able to provide you with the best possible miniatures. We will continue to push out updates through Kickstarter to keep you informed with any further developments. If you have questions feel free to drop a message through Kickstarter or email us at [email protected] and we will answer them. We apologise again for any inconvenience this may cause, and we thank you for your continuing support.
Although there have been issues with painting, the sculpting and production of the miniatures themselves have been rolling on. You have seen the unpainted sample of Gipsy Avenger that we have already shared, we would now like to show you now some more of those miniatures. Take a look here at the Kickstarter Exclusive Gipsy Avenger with Chain Swords, and Saber Athena.

We have been sent the final production samples of the amazing Jaeger models of Pacific Rim: Extinction Starter Set and Wave One, and we will be releasing some images of the unpainted resin models in their component parts and fully assembled so you can take a closer look at the detail that exists on the models.
This week we present to you Gipsy Danger. Gipsy Danger is a true Jaeger legend and a shining beacon of humanity's strength and courage in the face of insurmountable danger. A veteran fighter, Gipsy Danger’s name has been etched into history for her heroic actions during the Kaiju Wars.
Gipsy Danger uses highly-effective I-19 Plasmacasters that cauterize wounds on impact, preventing the spread of dangerous Kaiju Blue in battle. Gipsy Danger can also deploy a GD6 Chain Sword to quickly adapt in combat when engaging in close quarters.
Here you can see the parts that makeup Gipsy Danger. The miniatures are made out of several pieces to ensure the highest detail possible can be achieved in the production process, this also allows us to ensure that we can give the miniatures more dynamic poses.

We have been sent the final production samples of the amazing Jaeger models of Pacific Rim: Extinction Starter Set and Wave One, and we will be releasing some images of the unpainted resin models in their component parts and fully assembled so you can take a closer look at the detail that exists on the models.
This week we present to you, Obsidian Fury. Obsidian Fury poses a unique threat to the PPDC. Though no-one seems to know why, this sinister machine has been recorded attacking and destroying its supposed allies in battle, the Jaegers of the Mark VI fleet.
With operators and motives as dark and shadowy as its armour, Obsidian Fury is an unknown force of chaos, unleashing mayhem against humanity with only the other Jaegers capable of stopping it. Who is really pulling its strings…?
Here you can see the parts that makeup Obsidian Fury. The miniatures are made out of several pieces to ensure the highest detail possible can be achieved in the production process, this also allows us to ensure that we can give the miniatures more dynamic poses, in this case, Obsidian Fury has been made to lunge, ready to pounce!
