We have been sent the final production samples of the amazing Jaeger models of Pacific Rim: Extinction Starter Set and Wave One, and we will be releasing some images of the unpainted resin models in their component parts and fully assembled so you can take a closer look at the detail that exists on the models.

The first here to show you is Gipsy Avenger, in her dynamic shooting pose. Gipsy Avenger honors the heroic legacy of her namesake as the flagship leader of the Mark VI fleet. More than just a Jaeger, she is a symbol of hope to millions.

Gipsy Avenger carries the same complement of anti-Kaiju weaponry as her namesake, but with a full arsenal of Mark VI J-Tech upgrades, and a devastating prototype weapon: The Gravity Sling. Using a temporal distortion field to manipulate and wield heavy objects, it can grab anything in the environment - from cars to entire buildings - and turn them into a devastating slingshot projectile. For Gipsy Avenger, the world is her weapon.

Here you can see the parts that make up Gipsy Avenger. The miniatures are made out of several pieces to ensure the highest detail possible can be achieved in the production process, this also allows us to ensure that we can give the Jaegers more dynamic poses. These parts are then assembled and painted ready for packing into the final game boxes.

If you have not already pledged, you can still make a late pledge, but if you miss this deadline you will have to wait for the full retail release to get your hands on a copy of the game.

The PPDC Fleet is ready to seal the breach, here you can see Crimson Typhoon. She is ready to enter the fray, showing off the colour scheme for how you will receive the models.

Cadets, you have one week before the BackerKit for Pacific Rim: Extinction closes on the Friday 3rd August 2018! Make sure you log on to confirm your pledge, add-ons, and shipping before it is too late.  

If you have not already pledged and miss the deadline you will have to wait for the full retail release to get your hands on a copy of the game. 

Remember also, to keep your eye out for Kaiju! Here we can see a painted render of Leatherback an example of what we have seen come out of the breach.

Pacific Rim: Extinction - Play Testing Behind the Scenes

Playtesting is an important part of the game design process. It allows us to take a focused look at the game rules and mechanics to provide you with the best experience once you get the game to the table. We have been hard at work playtesting, seeing how different teams of Jaegers and Kaiju work together in the different scenarios.

Remember the BackerKit is open until the 3rd August so there is still time if you haven't pledged already to add your support. If you have pledged already make sure you log on to choose add-ons and pay for your shipping. We look forward to showing you more in our next update.
