Estimated Delivery Date & Production Update!

First of all, we are sorry! We have been trying to keep you as informed as we can throughout the campaign, and hopefully, this update goes a long way to giving you a much clearer idea of where we are. The one important thing that has changed is that we finally received an estimated completion date for the production by our manufacturing partner!  

So, with an estimated production completion date of "by the end of May", and considering the shipping and fulfilment times based on our experience, we estimate you will receive Wave One by the end of summer (dare I say August?). Once again, this is much later than we expected, we feel really sorry about this and thank you for your understanding. 

More Production Information

We wanted to make sure you had as much information about where we are as we can, so here are some further details about Wave One. Again, we are sorry for the delays, but we feel that what we are seeing from our manufacturer is looking fantastic and will be worth the wait.

Starter Set

Both the Gypsy Avenger and Shrikethorn models are looking great! The new samples we received looked so good they were approved and went into production straight away, meaning that all of these are complete. 

Everything else (the box, tokens, rulebook, cards, etc) has been approved slightly later after we needed to make some tweaks and changes due to bleeds, licensor approvals and quality assurance. All of this to ensures that you receive a truly high-quality game. 

Wave One Expansion Boxes

I think we can all agree with the samples that we have been sharing in photos with you over the past few updates are looking awesome. And like the models for the starter set, we are told that these are all fully produced and painted and ready to roll.

Again, the extra printed assets (the box, plastic tray, tokens, cards, etc) have needed some extra attention, our graphic designer did an amazing job establishing a look and feel for all the components look right at home in the Pacific Rim: Extinction range. Check out the (ever so slightly under-exposed) picture below.

Hakuja - The Living Earthquake

Today we have some pictures of another of the Kaiju models coming to Pacific Rim: Extinction. Hakuja will be released as an expansion as part of wave one of the game. We are continuing to work hard with our manufacturing partner, and look forward to bringing you news on production in another update soon!

Hakuja is a living tank, one of the most difficult Kaiju to take out with armour that defends against attacks from the front or behind. Even if your enemies manage to get through your armour they will have to deal with gouts of molten blood dealing the damage right back! Hakuja is the perfect choice for players that need an anvil for their team, a Kaiju that smashes building after building, never slowing and never stopping.

Hakuja’s armour and siege strikes are not what set it apart from other Kaiju, however. Its true skill lies within it’s unique burrow ability that allows it to leave the board altogether. Choose where to emerge, will it be behind an unsuspecting Jaeger or a mission-critical building? Wherever Hakuja goes, you can be sure he will shake things up.

Kaiju Emergency Alert - Category IV Kaiju Detected!

Production Update

We are working hard with our manufacturing partner to bring Pacific Rim: Extinction to all backers as soon as we are able; and we will share a timeline for fulfilment as soon as the last steps of production have been finalised.

Recently production was slowed due to the manufacturing factories closed due to Chinese New Year. This has caused delays in us receiving hard samples of the printed components to confirm that everything is the right colour and is clear so that all cards, tokens, and the rule book are readable. We received some samples, but the colours have come out too dark making blues look black, and the core box has had to be expanded to include all of the content. We are now awaiting the rest of the proofs to hopefully approve these so that the final stages of production can be completed on Wave One.

As you have been seeing from the photos that have been shared the models are now looking amazing, thanks to a new set of painted masters that was created that showed our manufacturer exactly what needed to be done in order to make every model look dynamic, and all wave one models are now finished.

A closer look at Shrikethorn

We would also like to share with you another of the painted models that all backers will receive as part of the Pacific Rim: Extinction Core Set when we start fulfilment later this year.

This is the first of the Kaiju we have shared and we are continuing to work hard with our manufacturing partner to deliver your pledges as soon as we are able without compromising the quality of the final product.

Gipsy Avenger gets up close and personal! Check out the latest painted model.

Hello all,

We have another painted production sample to share with you today. One of our Kickstarter exclusive items, Gipsy Avenger appears with twin plasma blades glowing, reading to get in close with the Kaiju enemy!

In the game, you'll be able to use this model and the standard 'shooting' Gipsy Avenger interchangeably.

Gipsy Danger Painted Model!

Hello all,

Pacific Rim: Extinction Wave 1 is continuing to move through production, and we are receiving final production samples of each Wave 1 model, in their fully painted form!

Today we'd like to show you Gipsy Danger, the original legendary Jaeger.

Gipsy Danger has a few subtle differences in paintwork when compared with her successor, Gipsy Avenger. This includes the markings and numbers on the body, which have all been faithfully recreated from the movie.

Soon we hope to share with you a timeline of the rest of the production process for wave 1 and beyond, as well as showing you the painted models as they become available.
